Winter is coming
Two birds are sitting on the wire
wonder what they’re chirping about
how the crisp of air is chilly this morning
how leaves are changing colours, ready to wither
Perhaps the chitchat goes beyond
like things about raising their own
or finding a new home
for fall is falling and fodder is scarce
kids are gonna be alone
the other one says, let’s chirp our best
finds friends, try’n protect our nest
the season is beyond our calling
so is next few months of gloominess
rather let’s brace ourselves
survive together this withering mess
the first one sings aloud;
it’s the part of circle
it’s the baggage of being
let’s hope my friend
we enjoy this swing
learn to endure when empty
learn to flap our wings
tweedle tweedle my friend
winter is coming
see you at the other end
when our homes are green again.
tweedle about the harsh days
as the sun shines, we’ll meet again
